JACQUI DANKWORTH

LIVE TO LOVE

Daughter of jazz royalty Cleo Lane and John Dankworth Jacqui chose Geoff to producer her 5th album. Geoff co-composed 2 songs with Jacqui, the lilting 7/4 groove ‘Malala’ and a ballad ‘All is Quiet’ and arranged vocal versions of John Dankworth’s ‘Tomorrow’s World’ and Wayne Shorter’s ‘Palladium.
There is also a guest appearance by the Brodsky Quartet on the album which Geoff was thrilled to be able to write for. Geoff mixed the album at home.

This labour of love project was the product of 18 months collaborating with the young Australian singer. An eclectic mix of jazz and groove it contains vocal versions of such classic jazz repertoire as Miles Davis ‘Joshua’ (Possibilities) and Herbie Hancock’s ‘Actual Proof’ plus 2 catchy originals ‘Roll On’ and ‘Save the World’. Based around the trio of Tom Cawley piano, Ralph Salmins drums and Geoff playing acoustic and electric bass.
